Hypnotherapy is a powerful way to affect lasting change in your life, but there are many misconceptions about it. Here, we explain what it’s like to be hypnotized and we will help you decide if it is right for you!
Hypnosis is an altered stage of consciousness in which you are able to access how you process past experiences that have happened to you. It may seem esoteric, but you have been hypnotised many times in your day to day life! The “zoned out” state that happens when you watch television or listen to the radio is a mild form of hypnosis. The difference in what we do is that Aziza will guide you into a much deeper state, you will maintain control at all times, and the process is therapeutic in nature. There is nothing unnatural about hypnotherapy.
There are many flat out wrong ideas about hypnotherapy. First, and most widely assumed, is that you are under the “control” of the hypnotist. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is simply impossible to force someone to do something they do not want to. Second, there is a belief that only certain people can be hypnotized. This is also false. Anyone can be hypnotized with help from a skilled hypnotherapist. Lastly, one cannot get “stuck” in a trance.
This is how a typical session will go: at the beginning of your session, we will discuss the reason you came to me and learn how hypnotherapy can create the change you want. Then I will ask for some background information relating to your situation. One of the great things about hypnotherapy is that there is very little need for “analysis” of the past and instead we will concentrate on creating the future you desire. We discuss and decide on which type of hypnotic techniques will be most effective and efficient for you.
After our discussion we will have a short session to introduce you to the wonderful experience of hypnosis. During the hypnotic session you will close your eyes and relax your body. This will allow for greater concentration and narrowing down of your focus. I will lead you into a hypnotic state through the use of my voice and other trance state cues. After the session, you will have a short readjustment period before leaving and then you can look forward to your next visit..
